Day A Reality
National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) is proud to announce its endorsement of a bipartisan resolution introduced on May 16, 2019, by U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), with the support of Senators Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), and Martha McSally (R-AZ), to raise public awareness for glioblastoma, a highly aggressive and deadly form of brain cancer that takes thousands of lives every year. The resolution, if passed, will designate Wednesday, July 17, 2019 as “Glioblastoma Awareness Day.” Please help us make this resolution a reality by taking action and asking your senators to support Glioblastoma Awareness Day. Head to the Hill 2017
The brain tumor community opposes the Administration’s proposed cuts to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) - cuts of $7.1 billion and $1.2 billion, respectively, resulting in 21% and 20% fewer dollars than they currently have - in its Fiscal Year 2018 (FY18) budget.
To take a stand against these proposed budget cuts, the National Brain Tumor Society is asking you to review our letter to the Administration and Congress, and SIGN our online petition to make sure your voice is heard in Washington.
We oppose funding cuts that impact the brain tumor community – let your voice be heard and sign the petition regarding proposed funding cuts for NIH and NCI.

The purpose of a clinical trial is to determine the most effective and safest treatment for a disease. Clinical trial evaluation is a key step to translating research into new medicines that can provide better outcomes for patients. The performance of clinical trials is a vital component of U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s drug approval process, without which advances in therapeutics for brain tumor patients would not be possible. Often the lengthiest aspect of the drug approval process is finding people to participate in trials. The NBTS Clinical Trial Finder is intended to help raise awareness and increase participation in clinical trials to facilitate brain tumor research and accelerate the development of new drugs and treatments for patients.
